Collecting and Saving Coins

Since I was a child, I am fond of collecting and saving coins. I used to have a pink coin bank with a lock. I remember I was able to make it full after a school year and so I bought stationery that was so famous at that time. It gave me a happy feeling that I can buy things I like from the money or coins I have save.

Now, I am teaching our son the value of saving. We have opened a junior savings account for him. Then when he wished to a buy a Mickey Mouse coin bank, we bought one for him. He was so happy.

There he put all the coins he sees around.  He will say, “Mommy can I put this inside Mickey Mouse?” Even the 5-cent coins will never escape his eyes. He loves to shake it and listen to the sounds of the coins inside.

By the way do you believe in putting a coin or bill that you will never spend inside your wallet. It’s a lucky charm they say. I have this 10-peso coin inside my wallet. My sister gave it to me. It’s a 10-peso coin produced during the People Power Revolution.

If you are coin collector you might want to check www.goldeneaglecoin.com/. You may also sell your collectible coins there.

Do you collect or save coins too?
