Holiday Cards

Unless you start planning the holiday early, sending cards can turn out to be stressful and tedious, especially if you have large quantities of mailing to do. Avoid the last-minute rush to the post office, or the additional rush shipping charges, and find out the perfect time frame to send out your greetings and season's best wishes. The holiday season has specific mail times you should adhere to in order to meet the deadline. Here are a few simple tips to help you stay on track when sending out your holiday photo cards.

Mailing List

Save time and make your work easier by organizing your mailing list first. This includes taking some time to gather all addresses that you'll send cards to, in order to hasten this process. To ensure the process goes smoothly, have all the addresses aligned with the corresponding names and any other detail you might require.

When sending out cards, find out the proper way to address the recipient. You will not address a card to your close friend the same way you address that of a colleague or neighbor. Pay attention to the title you bestow upon them, and if they have a professional title, include it in the card.

The Message

Whatever goes inside the card is just as important as the presentation. It's still acceptable to copy a message and customize it for your recipient, but it would be best to write a personal, heartfelt message that reflects your relationship with the recipient. You can then add some creative and inspirational messages to make the card unforgettable. The holiday season is a cheerful time, so make this the background tone of your message. Add a unique, holiday phrase to make the message stand out and give it a light touch.

Choose an appropriate closing message and sign the holiday card before stuffing it inside the envelope. The ideal way to close should be based on your relationship with the recipient. For example, the closing will be super friendly and light for close friends and family, but professional for business associates and colleagues. Find a personalized holiday sticker and seal the envelope before sending it.

The Art of Timing

Always send out your holiday cards on time to avoid the risk of cards arriving too late. Depending on where your recipient is, send cards 2 or 3 weeks in advance. For example, Christmas cards should be sent out in the first week of December. Be careful not to send cards too early as it may appear overzealous. As such, Christmas cards should not arrive before thanksgiving.

If you are sending cards to friends or family living outside your state or overseas, send it well in advance. Ensure you understand the shipping times, and logistics, to get the timing perfect. For Christmas, send the cards at the start of November to cover unexpected delays and give it sufficient shipping time.

Where does January Go?

Hello February! Where did January go? Are you also wondering where? Haha.

I had a very busy January. That maybe the reason why I didn't notice it was already over. I didn't even have my year end post. My apologies for not posting enough to entertain you. I don't want to make promises again but one thing is for sure, I am just here and will be back every now and then. Will that me okay? Hmmm, thank you so much for staying with me for the past years.

Anyway, did you know that it's only 11 months before the holiday? Oh, I am always excited for Christmas. So just like last year, I started saving this early for Christmas. I am also thinking of what gifts to give. In this way, I'll feel less stress when the holidays come.

Holiday stress is so real right. I am so sure most people do experience this stress especially when Christmas day is coming near. According to a post-holiday survey stress conducted across America, 71% of people felt stressed during the 2017 holiday season.

The survey also showed that women were 1.2 times more likely to be stressed than men.

And I agreed with it 100%. Because we women are the ones who take care of what gifts to give, the food to serve, the house and almost everything the family needs during holidays.

The survey also revealed that 61% of people say spending time with loved ones is one holiday tradition that makes them the happiest. Just like me, I am sure you will agree with it because Christmas is spending time with the family.

While I think everyone loves to decorate their house during holidays, the survey surprising says only 53% did decorate they home.

Decorating our home is one Christmas tradition we will not forget. Putting up the Christmas tree, decorating it and lighting the lights make us feel more the spirit of Christmas.

Apart from those above, I am sure you also have your own post-holiday stress experience. Actually, for me, the aftermath of Christmas holiday went until January. Haha. Anyway, Christmas will always be the most wonderful time of the year. And the stress it brings will always worth it. Agree?

Super Long Weekend + Our Anniversary

How's your week going guys? I hope everything is just light and easy. I have been missing in action for more than a week not only because of work, but because of typhoon Glenda and the total lost of internet connection.

Since after typhoon Glenda, we lost our internet connection at work and ours at home is so slow. It was just yesterday that the internet connection here at our office was fixed. It was terrible without the internet connection at work. I was forced to load up our Smart Bro stick but it was so so so slow. I can't even attach a doc file and it was stressful receiving follow ups of reports. Anyway, it was over and hopefully we will not lose the internet connection EVER again.

By the way, last week I was talking about Eid'l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan) on July 29 and wishing that July 28 is a holiday too. Just this morning I have learned that the Bulacan government declared July 28 as provincial holiday for INC Centennial. So now, I am looking forward to a super long weekend.

I love August and Holidays!

I was missing in action yesterday. Why? Because it was a holiday here in Bulacan. I think it's the Foundation Day and August 15 was declared as one of the many provincial holidays in Bulacan. I love it!

August has 2 holidays plus the Eid-ul-Fitr last August 9. And here in Bulacan we have 2 more provincial holidays. I really love it!

Anyway, let me just share how our day went on yesterday. As usual, we woke up because of Matthew. He maybe thought it was a Sunday so he told us that we must get up and go to Church. Here's our just woke up photo so please excuse my face, hehe.

Long Weekends!

Here's the list of the long weekends:

I am pretty sure you are as excited as I am. We are planning to go home to our province. The grannies will really be happy to see their unico apo (grandson). Haha.

August has so many holidays especially here in Bulacan. Yesterday was a provincial holiday because it's Bulacan's Foundation Day. On August 30, it's Marcelo H. Del Pilar Day, another holiday. Yey!

Everyone here is anticipating the long weekends. How about you? Any plans for the coming long weekends?
