Back to Crocheting

Last month, I started to crochet again.

I finished one cellphone pouch for my new Samsung A6+. (Read: Unboxing Samsung A6+ Smartphone)

Then, I felt I want to crochet more. So I started to crochet headband.

After almost two weeks, I finished this crochet headband with interchangeable flowers.

Crocheting has been my stress reliever. Nakakawala ng stress after a long busy day at work. It's my "me time". Hopefully, I have more free time to do it.

How about you mommies? What's your "me time"?

A Busy, Productive Week That Was

Hello everyone. How's your week? I have been busy these past days kaya wala na ako lakas mag-blog. My apologies dearies!

Sunday palang busy na talaga. Daddy and I were working on samples order of crochet amigurumi owl.

While our little boy was watching and eating pop corn. Sarap lang ng buhay, haha!

For weeks, wala talaga kaming mga MTOs. We spent nights cuddling while we're waiting for the time to sleep. But this week is very different. Sabay-sabay ang orders! After the owl, I worked on felt cloth letters naman.

But I am not complaining because these are blessings! Yun lang, we have less cuddling time na with my little boy. So I need to divert his attention to this.

Look at his masterpiece!

My 5-year old is really good at it. I told you, he never get tired with coloring and drawing his two most favorite superheroes, Iron Man and Spiderman.

After that, I will tell him naman to read bible stories. He will, but after that wala na sya magawa so he will start to get uneasy and tried to play with us. Kaya lang we need to meet deadlines so kahit masakit, I will tell him to lay down. Kwentuhan na lang muna kami. However, I regret doing that because my little boy will innocently ask the most painful questions.

Matthew: Mommy, bakit po nagwowork na kayo sa araw, pati sa gabi nagwowork pa din?

Natigilan ako. I looked at hime and he's seriously waiting for an answer. Bakit nga ba? I told him, sayang opportunity so we can save more.

Then he asked another question.

Matthew: Bakit po mga mommies ng classmates ko kahit hindi magwork may pera sila?

Aw! Maloloka na ko sa batang ito. I answered him with another question, "Gusto mo ba magwork din sa malayo Daddy mo para sa bahay na lang ako?" He said no, then there's silence. Yun lang naisip ko na sagot sa tanong nya because while his classmates have their moms at home, their Dads are away naman. I want him to understand that his classmates' families are sacrificing too. That sometimes we need to be away or to have less time with our family to provide all their needs.

I really want to stay at home. I am looking for a part time online job but that hasn't come yet. But God is so good that He made me see that the solution to this is on my hand already. My crafty hands. There are big opportunities coming in and praying that this opportunity will be the start of everything I dream of.

For now, I need to wait. I need more patience. Heto muna! Meet the owl family!

And let's welcome Mr. Crab too!

Happy weekend!

Very Busy August Recap

Two weeks ago, I started to get very busy at work. This is because our admin assistant gave birth and I decided not to hire a substitute because her maternity leave is just one month. With this, I took the responsibility of doing reports, following results, among others. It was my decision so I have no one to blame for my busy-ness but my self.

Now let me do an August recap because in 2 days we will say hello to September. August has been a very busy month for me. Aside from the reason above, August is the examination month.  As you all know, I am a Nanay teacher to our little boy. I see to it that I am the one who reviews with him his lessons, especially on examination weeks. I admit it was difficult because as I working mom I often go home so stressed. And sometimes, because Matthew is such a hyper boy, I easily lost my temper. Nevertheless, we make it through this month and I am proud to reap the fruits of my labor.

He got high and perfect scores on his quizzes, first quarter long quizzes and exams. Because of these, he deserves a reward.

Actually, I stopped from expecting too much from him. That's because until now, our little boy his very hyper in school. But that doesn't mean I don't believe his capability because for me he's very smart. He can read both in English and Filipino now. Also, he can understand English and can speak too. I'm sorry, I'm just a proud mom here.

Aside of being a Nanay teacher, I'm a mompreneur too. I am also busy managing our small online shop and we also accepts made to order crochet baby accessories too. Though I promise not to accept too much, this month we have finished 4 batches of MTOs.

The two boots are bound to Italy! Buti pa ang boots, haha! We are also making felt cloth letters.

These isn't possible without the help of Daddy Allan.

Also, this month we decided to split the contents of Our Family Blogs About blog, which will now concentrate on home and improvement, and DIYs.

So now we have two new sites: Mom and Dad Crochet where our crochet projects will be posted.

and Daddy's old blog Captured Moments by Chemist Dad where his photo arts, naks naman, will be posted.

Yes, I know it will be very tasky and time consuming to maintain many blogs. It's also expensive though the two have no domains yet. But I think it's doable naman. We also have plans of moving to WP and having our own hosting site. Crossing our fingers we can make this possible next year.

Moving on... My sister, who temporary cares for my mother and son, left us earlier than expected. It was another burden for me, physically and emotionally. I understand that she has her own life too but I just hope she considered the fact that I am working and there's no one left to look after my son and mother. It was another day when I really wanted to quit my job. But God is really good...

That day, my mother-in-law came with a new replacement. I was hesitant to hire a non-relative person but Daddy A tell me to give it a try. Her Tita who is my MIL's friend assure us that we can trust her. So I trust their words and she's with us for 3 weeks now. She's a not a total package of a good house help but I can forgive her lapses as long as she's taking good care of my mother and son. For me that's the most important.

So there, I keep my faith that our new house help will not leave us too soon. Daddy A and I already adjusted for her and I hope she appreciates our effort in showing her nothing but our kindness, hehe. Anyway, the other day, I asked Daddy to go to Matthew's school and asked what will be their costume for the Buwan ng Wika celebration. The teachers congratulated him and he doesn't know why until they told him that Matthew's on the top 5. I was surprised as I really don't expect this, but at the back of my mind, he got high scores in all his quizzes and exams so I must expect something kahit paano. Haha!

Behave pa more daw ang bulilit and it's not impossible to get a higher rand in the next grading period. Oopps.. I should not expect but I will do my best to teach Matthew and I will be more patient.

That's our busy August recap! See you all next month! Have a blessed long weekend!

Busy Weekend... Crocheting and Kite Flying

Hello guys! Have you noticed that we are almost half through January? Oh my G! That's the favorite expression of our son. Wala lang! Haha!

Sorry medyo ngarag lang ang peg because 4 days na akong kulang sa tulog. Why? We are finishing the last crochet MTOs we have accepted last year. Actually, our plan last December was to not accept orders anymore. But a bulk order came that we can't resist. We thought January 15 pa naman need but hey that's tomorrow already. In short napasubo kami ni Daddy A. So we have no choice but finish the bulk order of 400 mini booties lang naman. Here are the mini booties we have finished already.

My Goals for 2015 and A Better Me

The year 2014 has been a great year for me. God showered us with so many blessings but He gave us trials as well. I believe He will never give us anything we cannot handle so I always keep my faith on him. At the end of every trial, there's always something to learn. This keeps our faith even stronger and our self better.

And now that 2014 is over, I'll welcome 2015 with a happy heart and a stronger me. I will not make resolutions but instead realistic goals that I can achieve, especially with God's grace. So allow me to share with you my 10 goals for 2015.

Keep my strong faith in God.

Like what I have said, we have experienced several trials in 2014. I am only human that sometimes I forget that no problem is bigger than God. So I learn not to doubt God and to trust him more. That's why I will do my best to keep my faith even stronger.

Share and give more.

I must admit that I don't share and give more. I used to have this thinking that what we have is just enough for us. But I realized my heart is happier to help people and to see them happy. I also learned that I can share and give in so many ways if I really want to. Our available resources should not limit our capability to share, help and give more. Because if we really trust God, He will provide ways and give us back more than what we give.

2014, The Year that Was

Year 2014 had been a roller coaster ride for our family. But I still consider 2014 as a great year. Though they were bumps, there were more opportunities  for us. I can't deny the fact that last year, we had learned a lot.

So let's make a recap of our 2014.

Nanay's 67th birthday. We went too our hometown to celebrate Nanay's birthday last February. My other siblings and their kids attended our mini celebration at Jollibee, Science City of Muñoz.

Back to A Week's Update

Sorry guys.

Seems like I cannot sustain the daily posts I did last week. This week was a super busy week for me. From Monday to Wednesday we had workshops and meeting. It was indeed a very stressful week for me.

So let me just share the highlight of my super busy week, which is not over yet.

Just like what I said, I started the week with a workshop. It was job related and we talked about laboratory improvement. It was a 2-day workshop, which gave us a lot of information on good laboratory practices. Those new information gave me inspiration to work more for our laboratory's improvement.

Momaye's Diary Turns 3

I actually create this blog in 2010. My very first post was about the banner I made. Then the next post I made was in October 2011 and it's about Matthew Andrei, our precious little one

Since the first post I made was not really a post, I'll consider the post I made after a year the start of my blogging journey. So this month, Momaye's Diary turns 3.

A Week's Update

Divine Mercy Church, Marilao Bulacan
Finally! I get a chance to make a post. Cliche it may be, I had a busy week. Let me just give you some updates through photo.

Sunday is always our Church day. We do our best to go to Church to thank God for all the blessings, and even trials that come our way. For I know, He will never give us something we cannot bear.

Aside from our work, crocheting keeps us busy. Again, my never ever thanks to God for giving us this skill and patience so we can have another source of income and to save too. Here are what we have done for the week.

My Not So Busy Week

Hello guys! Finally, my long week is almost over. Almost because I still have one meeting today with my group. I know, kinacareer ko na ang work ko. Hehe. I commit to give myself a chance to love my work again.

You know, ever since I became a mother I always think about ways to be a work at home mommy. That made me hate my current work that has been a great help with our finances and expenses. I forgot that before I became a mother, I am a Chemist. So since two weeks ago, my every work day has been very busy. Time runs so fast that I failed to make a post regularly but at least I am trying to balance everything.

But surprise me is that even with my so busy day, I don't feel much stress and in fact I am enjoying it. Though it's still my number goal to become a work at home mommy. Anyways, enough of reasoning, haha. Let me just share how my busy week went.

I have never been this busy with my work and I can feel as the days passed by, lalo akong nagigising busy. It's all started when we started to have a weekly meeting. Because of that I have discovered that we need so many things to do, to document, to organize and to revise. Then last Thursday we had a group meeting. Of course, that means additional work to do. But like I have said, I like it. Ewan ko lang kung bakit, hehe.

Mom and Dad Crochet on Facebook

How's your day everyone? Mid-week na ulit, super bilis ng araw. It's only 3 more days and we'll say hello to December. Sale is everywhere and tomorrow is the start of another Big Garment Sale in Meycauayan Bulacan. So if you are just near the place or you want to buy cheap branded items, you can go there. And if you will ask if we will go, maybe no. I still can't get over my lost wallet e.

I keep on telling my self not to be guilty na. Aside from losing the money kasi I really regret not buying what I want. Alam nyo yun ganun feeling na sana ibinili ko na lang yun pera ng bag na gustong gusto ko or yun shoes. But like you guys said, and Daddy Allan too, the money will come back in many ways and that maybe the person who got it badly needs money. It happened for a reason so ayan konti na lang I can move on na. Surely, Daddy Allan will laugh at me when he read this post. Di daw kasi ako maka-move on talaga. Konting push na lang promise, hehe.
